Does Your Vanity Need A Face-Lift?

Many homes need a bit of updating, especially in the bathroom. When looking for a place to start, start with the vanity! HGTV.com has an inexpensive and quick solution to make your bathroom look fresh and modern, without breaking the bank.

Some of the materials you'll need for this fixer-upper are listed below.

  • Vinyl Wallpaper
  • Wallpaper paste
  • Wallpaper-smoothing tool
  • Wood filler
  • Door Pulls
  • Medium-grit sanding block
  • Wallpaper primer.

These items can be found in most hardware stores near you, so make a list and get to work!

After you’ve purchased the necessary items, the first thing you’ll need to do is PREP your DOORS.

Remove your existing door pulls and hinges with a screwdriver, and then lay your doors on a FLAT surface. After you’ve done that, fill any carved detail you (probably) have with wood filler using a utility knife.

By evening out your cabinets, you’ll be able to set the wallpaper you’ve purchased neatly and professionally.

MEASURE and CUT Wallpaper- You’ll need a tape measure to check the dimensions of the cabinetry you’re working with. Write the dimensions down so you don’t forget.

LAST THING! Lay out pre-cut pieces of vinyl wallpaper, with the BACK SIDE UP on a long flat surface. Paint an even layer of paste on the back of your wallpaper and let the paste settle for about 5 minutes.
